TheElectricianSWMSKit—21editabledocuments,everystate,A$59
Written for energised work, heights, solar PV, switchboards, trenching and ceiling spaces.
Current at 2 November 2026 — Reviewed against the Model WHS Regulations (5 December 2025 consolidation) and Victorian OHS requirements. SA falls are 2 m from 1 July 2026. NT residential falls are 3 m from 17 July 2026. Pack 2026.09.
A Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is the document Australian law requires before any high risk construction work — including work on or near energised electrical installations. It lists each high-risk task, its hazards, the controls, and who is responsible, and it must be made site-specific with the workers doing the job before work starts.
This kit is the electrical SWMS template pack that principal contractors don't bounce: short, plain-English, regulator-aligned — with none of the padding regulators say doesn't belong in a SWMS.

The jobs these SWMS are written for
Energised work, heights, solar PV, switchboards, trenching and ceiling spaces. The photos and the loop are the work. The documents are what you take to site.

A short loop of the work
Switchboards, rooftop solar, heights, trenches, ceiling spaces and a toolbox talk. The same jobs the eight SWMS are written for — playing on a loop, with the stills underneath if motion is off.

How the kit gets used
01Open the pack
21 editable documents, each in Word and PDF. Model WHS and a true Victorian version of every SWMS.
02Make it site-specific
Yellow fill-in fields, a checklist at the front of every SWMS, and the 10-minute guide that ships in the kit.
03Keep the copy current
The stamp on this site shows the review date after the WHS sources check. Updates to the pack are free for 12 months.
What's inside: 21 documents, each in Word + PDF (42 files)
8 Safe Work Method Statements covering the electrical jobs that count as high risk construction work — and every one of them in two versions: a Model WHS law version (NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, ACT, NT, WA) and a dedicated Victorian OHS version. That's 16 SWMS documents:
Plus 5 companion documents:
- Toolbox Talk Templates — 5 talks: electrical safety/LOTO, working at heights, asbestos awareness for electricians, manual handling & ladders, crystalline silica awareness
- SWMS Register — tracks every SWMS on a job: document, version, date given to the principal contractor, review date
- Daily Sign-On Sheet
- "Site-Specific in 10 Minutes" guide — the one-pager no template shop ships
- Read Me First — what's included, how to use it, the honest disclaimer
Doing Level 2 / ASP work (service mains, metering)? This kit doesn't cover it yet. Tell us if you want a Level 2 pack.
Real pages, not mockups
These are actual page renders from the kit — what you download is what you see.

Why these templates are different
- Site-specific by design. The #1 reason principal contractors reject a SWMS is that it's generic — another job's hazards. Every document opens with a make-it-site-specific checklist, and fill-in fields are yellow-highlighted so nothing gets missed.
- No padding. No 20 pages of legislation quotes, no risk matrices — the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner and WorkSafe Victoria both say these don't belong in a SWMS. Everything a principal contractor checks for is in; everything they roll their eyes at is out.
- 1:1 hazard-to-control linkage in a 5-column table with a named responsible person per control — the format WorkSafe Victoria publishes and federal safety auditors ask for.
- Actually current. Reviewed 2 November 2026 — including South Australia's new 2 m fall threshold (effective 1 July 2026; many template packs still say 3 m) and Victoria's 19-category HRCW regime.
Compared with typical template shops
| Electrician SWMS Kit | Typical template shop | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | A$59 for the full 21-document pack | A$179 trade packs; A$49–79 for a single SWMS |
| Victorian version | Dedicated VIC OHS version of every SWMS (19 HRCW categories, employer/HSR wording) | Usually one "all states" file, or VIC as a find-and-replace |
| SA 2 m fall threshold (1 July 2026) | Reflected | Many packs still say 3 m |
| Length | Short and plain-English — only what regulators require | 20–40 pages padded with legislation quotes and risk matrices |
| Hazard-to-control linkage | 1:1, 5-column table, named responsible person | Often grouped hazards — a known audit failure point |
| Site-specific workflow | Checklist on every doc + 10-minute guide | Rarely included |
| Companion docs | Register, 5 toolbox talks, daily sign-on | Sometimes, at extra cost |
State coverage
NSW, Queensland, SA, Tasmania, the ACT, the NT and WA all run harmonised Model WHS laws — the Model WHS version of each SWMS covers them, with jurisdiction notes where details differ. Victoria never adopted the model laws, so the kit includes a true Victorian version of every SWMS.
- SWMS requirements in NSW — the model law as written, SafeWork NSW's Form 05, and the $250k principal contractor threshold.
- SWMS requirements in Queensland — regs 299–303 and the penalty units attached to each SWMS duty.
- SWMS requirements in Victoria — the 19-category OHS regime and why a model-law template isn't enough.
- SWMS requirements in South Australia — the 2 m fall threshold that applies from 1 July 2026.
Electrician SWMS — frequently asked questions
All of them. Every SWMS comes in a Model WHS law version (NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, ACT, NT, WA) and a dedicated Victorian OHS version written to Victoria's 19 high-risk construction work categories — not a find-and-replace of the model version.
No SWMS template is — and any shop claiming otherwise is misleading you. A SWMS must be made site-specific in consultation with the workers doing the work. Every document in the kit opens with a make-it-site-specific checklist, and the included 10-minute guide walks you through it. Start with the free pre-start checklist.
Yes. Every document is an editable Microsoft Word (.docx) file with obvious yellow-highlighted fill-in fields. Edit in Word, Pages or Google Docs. A matching PDF of each document is included. The workspace can also stamp a logo and ABN onto a working copy.
Yes — SWMS 06 covers solar PV installation on roofs, in both the Model WHS and Victorian versions, alongside energised work, heights, switchboards, trenching, ceiling spaces, temporary site power and strip-out/rewire.
Yes — free updates to the pack for 12 months when regulations change. The current version is dated 2 November 2026 and already reflects South Australia's 2 m fall threshold that applies from 1 July 2026.
