Not legal advice. No template is compliant out of the box. A SWMS has to be made site-specific with the workers doing the job before work starts. SWMS Kit is not a regulator.

Electrician SWMS Kit · SWMS 01

Work on or near energised electrical installations and services

The SWMS for work on or near live electrical installations — the high risk construction work category that, on its own, means a SWMS is required before the job starts.

Ships as two files: Model WHS (NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, ACT, NT, WA) and a Victorian OHS version. Model category (k). Victorian category 7. Not compliant until you make it specific to the site with the workers doing the work.

What the task table covers

  • Plan the work and decide whether it must be live. Electric shock, arc flash, unplanned energisation
  • Isolate, lock out and tag out. Someone else re-energises the circuit while you are in it
  • Test for dead. A meter that is faulty, or testing the wrong conductor
  • Work in the restricted zone, if live work is justified. Shock, burns, tools bridging live parts
