Not legal advice. No template is compliant out of the box. A SWMS has to be made site-specific with the workers doing the job before work starts. SWMS Kit is not a regulator.

Electrician SWMS Kit · SWMS 08

Strip-out, demolition-adjacent electrical work and rewiring

Making electrical installations safe for strip-out and demolition, and rewiring in buildings that are coming apart.

Ships as two files: Model WHS (NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, ACT, NT, WA) and a Victorian OHS version. Demolition of a load-bearing element, asbestos, energised work. Model (c), (d), (k). Victorian 10, 16 and 7. Not compliant until you make it specific to the site with the workers doing the work.

What the task table covers

  • Make the installation safe before strip-out. Demolition crew cuts a live cable, asbestos in old fittings
  • Disconnect and make safe. Wrong circuit, shared neutrals, stored charge
  • Rewire while the building is open. Falls, unstable structure, live neighbouring tenancies
  • Leave the site for the next trade. A cable that looks dead and is not

Asbestos awareness sits on this SWMS. It is not a removal licence.
