Not legal advice. No template is compliant out of the box. A SWMS has to be made site-specific with the workers doing the job before work starts. SWMS Kit is not a regulator.

About SWMS Kit

Page last reviewed 2 November 2026

SWMS Kit makes plain-English, regulator-aligned Safe Work Method Statement template packs for Australian trades — starting with the Electrician SWMS Kit. We exist because the template market sells bloat: 30-page documents padded with legislation quotes and risk matrices that regulators explicitly say don't belong in a SWMS, at $179 a pack, going stale the day a regulation changes.

How the templates are made

  • Built from the primary sources. Every document is drafted against the Model WHS Regulations (reg 291 and the SWMS duties), WorkSafe Victoria's SWMS guidance (WSV1672), Safe Work Australia's SWMS information sheet, SafeWork NSW's SWMS form, and the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner's SWMS quality criteria. We keep copies of the source documents and re-check them when regulations change.
  • A superset of the official templates. Every field from the Safe Work Australia, WorkSafe Victoria and SafeWork NSW official templates is in — none of the padding regulators reject.
  • Dated and re-reviewed. Every page on this site and every document in the kit carries a "current at" date. When a state regulator changes something — like South Australia's 2 m fall threshold from 1 July 2026 — we update the pack and the date moves.

Honest disclosures

  • AI-assisted, human-reviewed. These templates are professionally prepared with AI assistance and human review against the current regulations. They are not legal advice.
  • No template is compliant out of the box. A SWMS must be reviewed, completed and made site-specific in consultation with the workers carrying out the work before use. A generic SWMS that has not been made site-specific does not meet WHS requirements. Every kit includes a 10-minute guide for doing exactly that.
  • No affiliation. SWMS Kit is not affiliated with Safe Work Australia or any state regulator.
  • No fake social proof. You won't find invented testimonials, made-up review counts or "trusted by" logos here. When real customer reviews exist, we'll quote them with permission.
